Therefore, the two of them agreed to have a marriage of convenience so that they would gain military benefits when they got married. Despite its success, the film wasseen as controversial. However, it still has its fans.

Green Cardis a romantic comedy that follows a Frenchman named Georges Fauré (Gérard Depardieu) and an American woman named Bront Parrish (Andie MacDowell). The two of them get married due to immigration-related issues. The story begins when Fauré wants to keep staying in America and Parrish, who is a horticultural and lives in New York, wants to rent an apartment that has a greenhouse. The only problem? Well, the apartment is only offered to married couples.

Therefore, the two of them agree to get married so each one will achieve their dreams just like inPurple Hearts. InGreen Card, Parrish and Fauré didn’t expect that things wouldn’t go like they wanted since they would have gone on separate ways after their marriage of convenience. They suddenly have to stay together as the immigration service watches them and it turns out that the other person isn’t that bad after all.

An Officer and a Gentlemanis another film you should watch if you lovePurple Hearts. While it was released in 1982, you could still get to enjoy the film even today. The romantic film is written and directed by Taylor Hackford. We see Zack Mayo (Richard Gere), a troubled man with a bad attitude, who wants tobecome a Navy pilotand therefore enrolls in the Navy Officer Candidate School. His troubled life was caused by his toxic relationship with his father.

The romantic part inAn Officer and a Gentlemanbegins when Mayo meets Paula Pokrifki (Debra Winger), a local factory worker who goes outside of the naval base. Like inPurple Hearts, the characters have personal goals. For example, Paula wants to marry a Navy officer so she can leavethe small town she lives in.

The Proposalis a rom-com with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds as the leads. The film follows Margaret Tate (Bullock), an editor at a publishing house, whose visa will expire soon. In order to avoid being deported to Canada,she basically blackmailsand bribes her assistant Andrew Paxton (Reynolds) so that he marries her.

She just won’t let everything she worked for go to waste. Once again like inPurple Hearts, the film includes a fake marriage where the couple actually develops feelings for each other. They even go to Alaska together to attend the birthday party of Andrew’s grandmother.

It is about Anna Brady (Amy Adams) who plans to travel to Dublin, Ireland on Leap Day, which is February 29th, so she can ask her boyfriend, Jeremy (Adam Scott), to marry her. This comes after she has been waiting for him to propose to her for a long time.

Her plan is based on the fact that in Irish tradition, a man must accept any marriage proposal he receives on Leap Day. However, many obstacles stand between her and her plans. Then she meets Declan (Matthew Goode), an innkeeper, who is completely different from her, but maybe different is good and Jeremy isn’t the one for her.
