In the film, we see Cassie (Sofia Carson),a young musician, and Luke (Nicholas Galitzine), who is a marine and a former addict. Cassie was diagnosed as diabetic, and she needs money to buy her medication. While Luke needs to pay his dealer what he owes him. Therefore, the two of them agreed to have a marriage of convenience so that they would gain military benefits when they got married. Despite its success, the film wasseen as controversial. However, it still has its fans.
It looks like the fans couldn’t wait to get a confirmation that there would be a sequel toPurple Hearts. They took it to social media where one Facebook post went viral as it claimed that there would be a secondPurpleHearts. However, there is no official confirmation about the possibility of a sequel. Just Go With Itis a rom-com that marked another collaboration between Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. It follows Danny (Sandler) who is a plastic surgeon and also a womanizer. He isn’t one for committed relationships, so he pretends to be in an unhappy marriage so he can go on casual dates. To him, this is the perfect plan to have no strings attached. However, things don’t go according to plan as he would have loved to. He ends up liking a woman and his lie ruins things for him.

The two of them are members of the same high school’s debate team and they dream of going to Ivy League college. Lona also comes from a working-class family while Bennet comes from a wealthy family.

Dear Johnis likePurple Heartswhen it comes to having a military figure. Soldier John Tyree (Channing Tatum) is on leave when he meets Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried). Savannah is a college student who dreams of working with autistic kids and she was on her summer break when she met John. Quickly, the two of them fall in love but life responsibilities catch up to them. With John returning to the army and Savannah back to college, they make their relationship a long-distance relationship.
The couple agrees to send letters to each other, but that doesn’t prove itself to be easy. The distance and time away from each other make their relationship a lot more difficult. InDear John, we see similar themes of love and sacrifice just like inPurple Hearts.

Green Cardis a romantic comedy that follows a Frenchman named Georges Fauré (Gérard Depardieu) and an American woman named Bront Parrish (Andie MacDowell). The two of them get married due to immigration-related issues. The story begins when Fauré wants to keep staying in America and Parrish, who is a horticultural and lives in New York, wants to rent an apartment that has a greenhouse. The only problem? Well, the apartment is only offered to married couples.
Therefore, the two of them agree to get married so each one will achieve their dreams just like inPurple Hearts. InGreen Card, Parrish and Fauré didn’t expect that things wouldn’t go like they wanted since they would have gone on separate ways after their marriage of convenience. They suddenly have to stay together as the immigration service watches them and it turns out that the other person isn’t that bad after all.

Holidateis a romantic comedy that was released in 2020. It follows Sloane (Emma Roberts) and Jackson (Luke Bracey) who aren’t big fans of dating. They are, however, met with pressure from their families and friends, especially Sloane, the two of them make a deal after they meet in a store.
They agree to pretend to be dating during any holiday season, but true feelings develop, and maybe the holiday season should turn into a lifetime. Whilethe story may seem cliché, it is still a nice movie to watch.
5An Officer and a Gentleman
An Officer and a Gentlemanis another film you should watch if you lovePurple Hearts. While it was released in 1982, you could still get to enjoy the film even today. The romantic film is written and directed by Taylor Hackford. We see Zack Mayo (Richard Gere), a troubled man with a bad attitude, who wants tobecome a Navy pilotand therefore enrolls in the Navy Officer Candidate School. His troubled life was caused by his toxic relationship with his father.
The romantic part inAn Officer and a Gentlemanbegins when Mayo meets Paula Pokrifki (Debra Winger), a local factory worker who goes outside of the naval base. Like inPurple Hearts, the characters have personal goals. For example, Paula wants to marry a Navy officer so she can leavethe small town she lives in.
4The Proposal
The Proposalis a rom-com with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds as the leads. The film follows Margaret Tate (Bullock), an editor at a publishing house, whose visa will expire soon. In order to avoid being deported to Canada,she basically blackmailsand bribes her assistant Andrew Paxton (Reynolds) so that he marries her.
She just won’t let everything she worked for go to waste. Once again like inPurple Hearts, the film includes a fake marriage where the couple actually develops feelings for each other. They even go to Alaska together to attend the birthday party of Andrew’s grandmother.
3Leap Year
Leap Yearisa romantic comedyreleased in 2010 and it was directed by Anand Tucker. It is about Anna Brady (Amy Adams) who plans to travel to Dublin, Ireland on Leap Day, which is February 29th, so she can ask her boyfriend, Jeremy (Adam Scott), to marry her. This comes after she has been waiting for him to propose to her for a long time.
Her plan is based on the fact that in Irish tradition, a man must accept any marriage proposal he receives on Leap Day. However, many obstacles stand between her and her plans. Then she meets Declan (Matthew Goode), an innkeeper, who is completely different from her, but maybe different is good and Jeremy isn’t the one for her.

The beginning of the hate relationship between the two is when they started working at the same place after their previous companies merged together.
