Masters of the Universeis already ramping up its hype, having released teasing images of Nicholas Galitzine’s He-Man, the Power Sword, and revealed the new logo for what Amazon MGM Studios are already promoting as “the global phenomenon.” However, there are many secrets of the revival of the 80s franchise to come, including first looks at character such as Skeletor, Man-At-Arms, and Evil-Lyn. In a recent interview withMovieWeb’sGeorge Edelman, Evil-Lyn actressAlison Brieshared her excitement to be part of the movie and playing up to the legacy of the villainous second in command to Skeletor.
Brie’s casting as Evil-Lyn was announced early in the movie’s production, which finally got underway and wrapped earlier this year after many years of delays and misfire attempts to bring the muscleman of Eternia back to the big screen for the first time in almost 40 years. Teasing what the role of Evil-Lyn means to her, Brie said:

“I hope to do the appropriate level of fan service. But Evil-Lyn is arguably the best character in the He-Man franchise. I was so excited to get to play a true villain, and so I had a lot of fun.”

‘Masters of the Universe’ Can Deliver Something Fans Have Waited Over 40 Years For
Fans of thecartoon series He-Man and the Masters of the Universehave wanted to see just one thing since the series debuted in 1982. It is not a movie where everything looks a bit like another universe’sStar Wars, and it isn’t a complete reboot that changes everything about the characters and story. No, what everyone has wanted is a movie that brings to life those colorful characters that dominated Saturday morning TV in the 1980s with ridiculous names, distinctive appearances, and the kid’s TV theme song to end all kid’s TV theme songs.
WhileDolph Lundgren’s 1987 movieis an undeniable cult classic, many had given up on ever seeing He-Man hold aloft his mighty sword and utter the words “By the power of Grayskull.” Now, somehow, Amazon MGM Studios seem to have done the impossible and put together exactly the movie that fans have been asking for. In the same way this year’sSupermanandThe Fantastic Four: First Stepsseem to be embracing the chaotic madness of their source comic books,Masters of the Universelooks not to be asking how we can ground this in reality, but how can we make the cartoon work in a live-action setting? While it is a year until we find out if they have pulled it off, what has been seen so far has been very encouraging indeed.
