The last season ofAmerican Horror Storywrapped up back in November, and while we have known for quite some time that the show is coming back, having been renewed not only forAHS Season 7, but also Season 8 and Season 9 as well, we haven’t learned anything about the new season’s story. Last season, series creatorRyan Murphykept fans in the dark in every aspect of the show, including the cast members and story line, but this year, he decided to not keep fans waiting. The creator and executive producer revealed on a recent TV appearance that this season will be inspired by the election ofDonald Trump. Here’s what he had to say during an episode ofWatch What Happens Live.
“Well I don’t have a title, but the season we begin shooting in June, is going to be about theelectionthat we just went through. So I think that will be interesting for a lot of people.”

He would only state then that this season would be a “modern-day” story.
Ryan Murphyconfirmed during EW PopFest in October that an upcoming season will be a crossover between the first season,Murder House, and the third season,Coven, although he stated at that time that it wouldn’t be Season 7, but another season down the line.
