Andy Serkissays he’d be “very happy” to reprise his role of Supreme Leader Snoke in J.J. Abrams’Star Wars 9. ManyStar Warsfans were disappointed that Rian Johnson chose not to delve into the backstory of Snoke and feel that the character was a missed opportunity for those who were looking for a Darth Vader-type of villain inThe Last Jedi. J.J. Abrams was the one to introduce the character, will he bring him back for some possible flashbacks?
Andy Serkis recently revealed that he loved playing theSnokecharacter in bothThe Force AwakensandThe Last Jediwhile also expressing interest in making a return for the final installment in the new trilogy. Serkis says he’d be happy to “extend Snoke’s life,” which isn’t surprising. Serkis also says he enjoyed the relationship that the villain had with Daisy Ridley’s Rey. The actor explains.
“It’s a great character, and I’d be keen. I know itfrustrated a lot of peoplethat Snoke came to such asticky endso quickly, but I loved that big scene and the relationship between Daisy Ridley’s character and Snoke, and where it goes from there and what escalates from that moment, you know the fight that kicks off after that. So, I really think it’s great in the movie, but yeah, I could quite happily, I’d be very happy to extend Snoke’s life for sure.”
But will Snoke come back forStar Wars 9? It seems unlikely at this time, especially since Serkis recently admitted that he has not spoken to J.J. Abrams yet. However, Abrams did justcomplete the scriptand filming isn’t set to begin until this summer. It is entirely possible that Serkis could reprise his role of Snoke in the form of flashbacks.
