Earlier this week, singerSinead O’Connormade headlines when she accused talk show host and comedianArsenio Hallfor the untimely andunexpected deathof musical iconPrince. Now,Arseniohas responded by slapping the woman with a $5 million lawsuit.Hallis suingO’Connorfor libel due to the accusations pointed towards him.
In a Facebook post on her official page,Sinead O’ConnoraccusedArsenio Hallof beingPrince’s longtime drug dealer. She also claimed thatHallhad spiked her marijuana while visitingEddie Murphy’s home several years ago. ThoughPrince’scause of deathhas not been confirmed or announced, there have been plenty of rumors swirling that either painkillers or hard drugs lead toPrince Rogers Nelson’s passing. This was cause for alarm according toSinead O’Connor, who had this to say in her initial statement.
“Two words for the DEAinvestigatingwhere prince got his drugs over the decades…. Arsenio Hall (AKA Prince’s and Eddie Murphy’s bitch) Anyone imagining prince was not a long time hard drug user is living in cloud cuckoo land. Arsenio I’ve reported you to the Carver County Sherrif’s office. Expect their call. They are aware you spiked me years ago at Eddie murphy’s house. You best get tidying your man cave.”
As you can see in the post,O’Connorclaims to have reportedArsenio Hallto the Carver County Sheriff’s office. Though there is no mention on whether or not the police followed through with the tip. The following day,Sineadposted yet another statement on her Facebook page. This time, she elaborated on her accusations. She explains thatHallinvited her to a Grammy after party atEddie Murphy’s home. The singer decided to forgo the Grammy ceremony, which causedArsenioto become very upset. And he began acting very maliciously towards her. We’re not allowed to reprintSinead’s copyrighted story, but you can read the full description in the embed below.
O’Connorclaims thatHallfelt her Grammy no-show was a direct attack against his character. The incident is believed to have happened in 1991, whenSineadwon the Grammy, further provoking the comedian. This lead toArsenioreportedly plying the woman with laced marijuana and making unwanted advances on her.
Arsenio Hallfiled his official complaint with the Los Angeles courts earlier today, May 5. He callsO’Connora “desperate attention-seeker” and claims that her accusations are nothing but “outlandish defamatory lies.” He goes onto refute all of her claims, stating that the singer has a history of “bizarre, unhinged internet rants.“Arsenioalso reported the damaged relationship betweenPrinceandSinead O’Connor, bringing up an old feud between the two, and the fact that they engaged in a violent fistfight. He also claims thatO’Connorspit onPrinceand repeatedly told him to go ‘F…Himself.’ The $5 millionArsenio Hallis seeking is for compensatory damages.
