Avataris a globally successful franchisethat has captured the imagination of movie-goers worldwide.Avatar: The Way of Water, released in 2022, received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike and has left fans eagerly anticipating the release ofAvatar 3.While there have been few details released about the film, recently, some concept art was revealed at the Avatar Immersive Experience in Los Angeles. The art piece has led to a lot of speculation about a significant change in one of the main characters.

The concept art in question features Jack Champion’s Spider and Sigourney Weaver’s Kiri. As noticed by some fans onReddit, the art shows the two characters underwater, with Spider having a neural queue, a braid used by the Na’vi to link with the flora and fauna of Pandora. Spider is also without his mask, leading many to speculate that he may become a Na’vi Avatar in the upcoming film. If this speculation proves true, it could be a significant change for the character and could have a significant impact on the storyline of the movie.

Fire Na’vi Avatar 3

It’s worth noting that concept art is often produced early in the filmmaking process, and not all of it makes it into the final film. So, it’s possible that the concept art was initially created forAvatar: The Way of Waterbut later discarded. However, given that bothAvatar 2andAvatar 3were developed simultaneously, it’s also probable that this scene is intended for the upcoming film.

What to Expect from Avatar 3

Avatar 3is set to introduce several new Na’vi tribes to the world of Pandora. Director James Cameron has already hinted at the grand scale of the upcoming film, promising a deeper exploration of the stunning world and the vibrant cultures that reside within it. Among these new tribes is the Ash People, known for their fiery nature and will serve as the primary antagonists of the film, adding a new layer of conflict to the storyline. Another new tribe that viewers can look forward to seeing is the desert people, known for their wind-based culture and trading practices as they travel across the varied terrain of Pandora.

Fire plays an essential role in the film’s symbolism, and Cameron has hinted that there is a unique culture built around this element.

“Fire has a symbolic purpose in the film and there’s a culture that is specifically around that concept. That’s probably saying too much as we speak. You’re going to meet two completely new cultures in the next film,” Cameron explained. “We met the Omaticaya, we met the Metkayina, and you’re going to meet two new cultures in the next film, and it kind of roves a little more freely around the world of Pandora to different places.”

The Avatarmovies are known for being quite lengthy, with the first movie lasting 2 hours and 42 minutes and the sequel lasting 3 hours and 12 minutes. However, there is a rumor circulating that the third installment in the franchise will be even longer, with a 9-hour cut currently in development. This extended version is supposedly intended to bereleased as a limited series on Disney+after the theatrical release of the shorter version, which is still expected to be quite lengthy.
