Back in October, during a massiveMarvelpress event, the studio announcedAvengers: Infinity War Part IandAvengers: Infinity War - Part II, which were given 2018 and 2019 summerrelease dates, respectively. During the studio’s presentation, the video showcased a new look at the Mad Titan himself, Thanos (Josh Brolin), who was seen holding the Infinity Gauntlet, complete with all six of the infinity stones securely in place. Today, we have a new high-res version of this iconic image, courtesy ofComic Book Movie, which gives us a better look at the Gauntlet.
The image comes from anAvengers: Age of Ultronfeaturette, which is available on Digital HD and arrives onBlu-ray and DVDOctober 2. While we don’t know for sure, it will most likely be showcased in one of thespecial featuresentitled Unlocking the Infinite Six, which deals with the six Infinity Stones and will serve as a preview for Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Avengers: Infinity War Part 2. Since there is very little we know about this two-part sequel’s story, hopefully this featurette sheds some light on the plot.

Avengers: Age of Ultronhelped set the table forAvengers: Infinity War Part Iand Avengers: Infinity War - Part II, with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) learning about the Infinity Stones, after being put under a mystical spell by Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). The end credit scene also gave us a new look at Thanos, who appeared with theInfinity Gauntlet, stating “Fine. I’ll do it myself.” Fortunately for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, none of the Infinity Stones were in place, but that may change as we move intoPhase Three.
There are six Infinity Stones that fit into the Infinity Gauntlet, but we have only seen four of these in the MCU thus far. The first stone that fans saw was the Tesseract, a.k.a. the Space Stone, first revealed inCaptain America: The First Avenger, followed by the Aether (Reality Stone) fromThor: The Dark World, the Orb (Power Stone) fromGuardians of the Galaxyand the Mind Stone from Loki’s scepter, which is currently housed in the android Vision, fromAvengers: Age of Ultron. The two stones that have not been unveiled yet are the Soul Stone and the Time Stone, but it isn’t known when we may see these gems unveiled.
BeforeAvengers: Infinity War Part Ihits theaters in 2018,Marvelwill releaseCaptain America: Civil War(August 01, 2025),Doctor Strange(August 21, 2025),Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2(August 15, 2025),Thor: Ragnarok(August 13, 2025).
