With production slated to begin early this year, casting is starting to heat up on Paramount’s reboot ofBaywatch. Just a few months afterAlexandra Daddariolanded thefemale leadrole of Summer,Varietyreports that model/actressKelly Rohrbachhas signed on to play C.J. Dwayne Johnsonalso released three videos featuring himself and his new co-star, which pokes fun at the original TV show’s trademark slow-motion running scenes. TheVarietyreport also confirms thatAlexandra Daddariowill be playing Summer Quinn, a character originally portrayed by Nicole Eggert. In one of the videos,Dwayne JohnsontellsKelly Rohrbachto call him Mitch, which seemingly reveals that he’ll be playingDavid Hoff’s role ofMitch Buchannon. It isn’t known if his co-starZac Efronwill be portraying characters from the originalTV seriesor not.

The story will center onDwayne Johnsonas a by-the-book lifeguard, who teams up withZac Efron’s character, a young wild card, to save their beach from the environmental destruction caused by a nefarious oil tycoon. While little else is known about the story,Dwayne Johnsonteased last month that the adaptation will definitely beR ratedand it is also believed to be more comedic and action-heavy than the series. Filming is slated to begin in early 2016, although Paramount hasn’t set a release date at this time.

Seth Gordon(Horrible Bosses) is directing from a screenplay most recently written byDamian ShannonandMark Swift(Friday the 13th). Justin Malen (Bad Teacher 2) wrote the original draft of the script, withDwayne Johnsonalso producing alongsideBeau FlynnandIvan Reitman.
