Creating a movie takes hours of work, from the inception to the full-fledge created product. Through this, audiences have the chance to see movies that are works of art, while others have become the same old story that they have seen over and over again. Films that are dependent on box-office success have developed a formula that the movie needs to follow for success, which has made these film rather predictable. However, these predictable plots have become something that audiences love and never want to go away.
Many movies fit the bill and are filled with endless clichés and predictable conclusions. Batman v. Supermanwas a pretty predictable plot until they killed off Superman himself. The film’s ending implicated that the team was going to resurrect the Man of Steel, which made theJustice Leagueplot incredibly easy to put together. Warner Bros. studio pushed Zack Snyder to make a simpler and more streamlined movie so that audiences would fall in love with Superman again, according toDen of Geek. Superman spends most of the movie off-screen, and when he comes in at the final battle, it felt mechanical, but was still a welcome return.

9Maid in Manhattan
Maid in Manhattanwas never meant to be a true piece of art. The movie was meant to satisfy a designated demographic as it followed the Cinderella-esque story. The simplistic storyline makes the film pretty forgettable except for the onscreen chemistry that was shared between Ralph Fiennes androm-com queen, Jennifer Lopez. The one shining light in the movie was Ty, played by Tyler Posey, who kept the relationship between his mother and the man who caught his mother’s eye together.
From start to finish,Takenwas painfully obvious. Liam Neeson was the right person to star in the film, but the plot was easy to guess. Every audience member knew he was going to beat up any bad guy who got in his way.Collidercalls this the fate of the revenge genre. Nobody doubts that he will get his daughter back, andTakenseems more like a reason for Neeson to beat up anyone who gets in his way. Audiences, of course, were no less enthused when he did rescue his daughter, which is evident in the fact that the film spawned an entire franchise.

The Notebookis aNicholas Spark’s bookof the same name that was adapted as a heart-warming rom-com. Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling bask in the melodrama of the film, which the creators were hoping for.The Notebookis filled with romantic tropes that could have been removed without affecting the plot. The film has seen its fair share of mixed reviews; however,The Notebookhas since become a staple in pop culture as charming and romantic.
6The Incredibles 2
The Incredibles 2was set up for success after its predecessor was such a box office hit. The movie did receive criticism months before it was released as the major plot twist was revealed.What Culturedetailed how Pixar revealed the characters of Evelyn and Winston Deavor, who are sibling entrepreneurs trying to rebuild the superhero image. Minutes after the unveiling, people confirmed that Evelyn was in fact the villain as her name is Evil Endeavor. Pixar tried to mislead audiences by suggesting her brother was the villain, but it didn’t quite work. Nonetheless, audiences were happy to see their favorite animated super-family on-screen again.

Laurie Strode lures Michael Myers into the basement trap in her home. She then sets her house on fire and barbecues her decade-long villain in the latestHalloweenmovie. Audience members were wondering if this is the time that Michael will not be able to escape and this is the final movie. Michael somehow finds his way out of the house to continue his rampage. This movie series has become as predictable as the sun coming out every day.
Loganis the perfect example of a movie that overcomes its own predictability by having perfect execution. The film proves that when something is dramatic enough, it doesn’t matter if the audience knows what’s coming.Loganis Hugh Jackman’s last solo film as Wolverine and is bloodier and grittier than its usual tone. The titular hero is also saddled with a child for most of the movie, which, according toScreen Rant, had all the makings for a teary send-off. Everyone was surprised by the clone reveal, but they were able to predict what would happen to Logan’s character by the end of the film.

James Cameron’s box office record-making movie was not remotely surprising in terms of plot.Avatarfollows Jake Sully as he becomes extremely close with the Na’vi people and even falls in love with the Neytiri. Jake fends off western capitalists who are trying to destroy the Indigenous people’s home. Audiences were able to quickly pick up on the plot of the movie, but Cameron wasn’t trying to hide it.Avatarwas able to hold number one in the box office because of its unique way to tell a predictable plot.
2Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Once Upon a Time in Hollywoodreceived major praise from critics as Quentin Tarantino pays homage to 1960s Hollywood. The film was centered around the Manson family’s murders, which audiences knew wouldn’t be given a factual portrayal. A young and idealistic cop wants to rid Gotham of crime, which wasn’t too surprising to see where this movie is going. Nolan tried to make audiences believe that he could kill off Batman, but all the while he was sipping coffee in a café with Selina Kyle. It wasn’t surprising that he retired and passed his mantle on to a younger and more eager hero who is ready to take on any bad guy that comes his way. However, considering everything we had seen Bruce go through in Nolan’s trilogy, it was a much deserved retirement and a satisfying conclusion for fans.
