The two, who starred in the hit CBS series during its 12-season run, reunited on Broadway, where Cuoco paid a visit to watch Parsons starring in a production ofOur Townon Saturday, November 23. Parsons currently stars in theOur Townrevival as the Stage Manager. Cuoco marked the reunion by sharing a sweet picture of the two on her Instagram stories, where she wrote: “Go see Jim Parsons in @ourtownbroadway! It is beyond! I surprised him 🥹.” She also included a GIF that read “Reunited.”
The Big Bang Theoryconcluded its celebrated 12-season run in 2019. Parsons went on to serve as an executive producer and narrator for the prequelYoung Sheldon, which followed Parsons' Sheldon through his childhood. Parsons appeared on-screen alongsideBig Bang Theoryco-star Mayim Bialik for the prequel’s series finale earlier this year. Cuoco has not reprised the role of Penny followingThe Big Bang Theory’s conclusion, but recently shared that she is open to portraying the character again,saying she would “100%” be open to returning as Penny. Parsons also recently discussed the possibility of appearing as Sheldon in a reunion or spinoff series, but his response will leave fans of the series less optimistic:

“As we sit here now, no, but I also I would I never say never to anything, because life just changes so much. You know, one of the things is that it was so special as what it was as what it is. And they call it lightning in a bottle for a reason, and you’re able to be certain it wouldn’t be that. And so why would we be doing it? I don’t know that that’s how I feel on that right now. But like I say, God willing, life is very long,” Parson shared.
Big Bang Theory Expansion Sparks Hope
The Big Bang TheoryUniverse continues to expand, which means that the chances of seeing the stars of the original show return are not unimaginable.Young Sheldonconcluded this year, launching the spinoffGeorgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. The sitcom, which stars Montana Jordan and Emily Osment, follows the titular characters' relationship and the challenges they face as young newlyweds.Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriagepremiered in October, has received generally positive reviews from critics and audiences, and was recently given a full season order. Given the show’s time frame and storyline, it’s unlikely anyBig Bang Theorycharacters will appear, but another possibility exists.
There’s currentlyanotherBig Bang Theoryspinoff in the works at Max, which will starBig Bang Theorycastmates Kevin Sussman, Brian Posehn, and Lauren Lapkus. The untitled show will reportedly center around Stuart’s (Sussman) comic book. Could we see Penny or Sheldon, or any of the original series' beloved characters, pay a visit? Well, fans can certainly remain hopeful.
