Black Panther's Captain America: Civil War Mission Revealed?

Back in October, whenMarvelrevealed their fullPhase Threeslate, the studio announced thatChadwick Bosemanis playingBlack Panther, who will make his debut inCaptain America: Civil Warbefore his stand aloneBlack Panthermovie arrives in 2018. Aside from the confirmation ofBlack Pantherappearing inCaptain America: Civil War, there is very little we know about how this character fits into this sprawling story, which sets the stage forMarvel’s nine-moviePhase Threeslate. Today we have an unconfirmed report that revealsBlack Pantherwill actually be hunting down The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan).

We know that Captain America (Chris Evans) and The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) have both been searching for The Winter Soldier, with Falcon briefly mentioning the “missing persons case” he’s working on in the Avengers Tower party scene inAvengers: Age of Ultron. It’s possible that Black Panther, Cap and Falcon first cross paths while trying to locate The Winter Soldier, and this could be the start of an antagonistic relationship that leads to T’challa joining forces with Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.). But we don’t know that for certain. We do know that Black Panther will have to choose team, since the story revolves around Cap and Iron Man on opposite sides of the Superhero Registration Act, which forces those with super powers to register themselves with the government, to become part of a global police force.

It’s worth noting that, inCaptain America: The Winter Soldier, it is hinted that The Winter Soldier may have been programmed to kill Tony Stark’s parents, so there could be some common ground between Tony and T’challa that may lead to them joining forces. It’s also possible that The Winter Soldier will come to Black Panther’s homeland of Wakanda in search for vibranium upgrades for his Winter Soldier suit, which may also be how Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis) comes into play. But that character hasn’t been confirmed to appear inCaptain America: Civil Waryet. In addition, we also have a fight rehearsal video from theCaptain America: Civil Warset, which appears to show Black Panther’s fighting style.
