The long-awaited sequel to 2018’s hitA Simple Favorhas officially confirmed its new title, as well as when it will have its world premiere and its streaming debut on Prime Video. The streamer has confirmed the film is calledAnother Simple Favorand will see Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick reprise their roles as Emily Nelson and Stephanie Smothers, respectively. The plot revolves around Emily’s wedding in Capri, Italy, to a wealthy Italian businessman being interrupted by a murder. Paul Feig returns to direct, as does the first film screenwriter, Jessica Sharzer, who is also joined byShutter Islandscreenwriter Laeta Kalogridris.

“I’ve avoided making sequels to any of my films but these characters were just too much fun not to revisit. So, to be able to have Anna, Blake, Henry [Golding], Andrew [Rannells], Michele [Morrone], Elizabeth [Perkins], Alex [Newell] and myself watch our film with the great SXSW audience is a bucket list event that I’ll be able to check off March 7th and move playing drums for Dwight Yoakum’s band up to the top slot.”
Claudette Godfrey, SXSW’s vice president of film and television, revealed what makesAnother Simple Favorthe ideal film to open the film festival, saying:
