Nickelodeon is celebrating 25 years ofBlue’s Clueswith an all-new music video uniting all three hosts of the long-running children’s educational program. Called “you’re able to’t Spell Blue without YOU,” the video was launched online 25 years to the dayBlue’s Cluesfirst premiered on Nickelodeon. The music video brings back former hosts Steve Burns and Donovan Patton, who respectively played Steve and his brother Joe, uniting them withBlue’s Clues & You!star Josh Dela Cruz. Along with returning as his character Steve, Steve Burns also directed the music video. In “You Can’t Spell Blue without YOU,” Blue and theBlue’s Clueshosts acknowledge the generations of fans throughout the years through song. The video features a series of images and art from past and present viewers as well as fans all grown up holding up photos of themselves as little kids.

The legacy and lasting impact of the series continues with the remake ofBlue’s Clues & You!in 2019, which has a new generation of preschoolers searching for clues with beloved puppy Blue and new live-action host Josh. The series features new CG-animation for Blue and Magenta, brand-new elements and refreshed iconic items from the original series including an updated Handy Dandy Notebook equipped with smartphone technology and the returns offan-favorite characters.
In a recent video posted online, Steve Burns returns to tell his fans thathe never forgot about them. The heartfelt footage features Steve speaking to the camera, addressing the former children who watched his show who are now all grown up. Going viral, the clip has resonated with many people who remembered watching the series over two decades ago.
“it’s so amazing, right? I mean, we started out with clues, and now it’s what? Student loans? And jobs. And families. And some of it has been kind of hard, you know. I know you know,” Steve says in the video.
He added: “I wanted to tell you that I really couldn’t have done all of that without your help. And, in fact, all the help that you helped me with when we were younger is still helping me today. Right now. And that’s super cool. I guess I just wanted to say thatafter all these yearsI never forgot you… ever. And I’m super glad we’re still friends. Thanks for listening. You look great by the way. Whatever it is you’re doing, it’s working.”
Blue’s Clues & You!, which was recently picked up for a fourth season and nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards, is currently in its second season. The show airs weekdays at 11 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.
