Fraser is ready to experience the second golden era of his career. During the 90s, the actor was one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, starring in popular films such asGeorge of the JungleandThe Mummyfranchise, which made him one of the most sought-after actors in the industry.

In 2018, Fraser said he hadbeen sexually assaulted by Philip Berk, president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association at the time. That event, combined with the loss of his mother and various health problems, made the actor fall into a severe depression, gradually disappearing from the media and participating in fewer and fewer projects.

Martin Scorsese Has Defended Brendan Fraser’s Performance in Killers of the Flower Moon

Killers of the Flower Moon

Although his role inKillers of the Flower Moonis quite small, following release,Fraser was criticized by somefor his performance. In the movie, the actor plays a lawyer during the trial that Leonardo DiCaprio’s character faces, and for some moviegoers, Fraser’s performance was a bit exaggerated.

Fortunately, for the acclaimed director Martin Scorsese, the performance was perfect. In an interview withLADbible, Scorsese defended Fraser’s work and praised him saying:

“We thought he’d be great for the lawyer and I admired his work over the years. He actually came in for I think a couple of weeks on the picture, particularly when it was in our later shoot. We had a really good time working together, particularly with Leo. Particularly in the scene where he says ‘they’re putting a noose around your neck, he’s saving you dumb boy.’ Really for us, when we heard that he brought the whole scene down on Leo it was perfect. And had that girth, he’s big in the frame at that time. He’s a wonderful actor, and he was just great to work with.”

In addition toRental Family, Fraser is part of the cast of Max Barbakow’s upcoming movieBrothers, alongside Josh Brolin, Peter Dinklage, Taylour Paige, Glenn Close, and William Tokarsky.
