We are just over six months away from the arrival of the highly anticipatedJurassic World: Dominionarriving in cinemas. While we have been treated to the opening prequel from the movie, new poster and plenty of teasing comments by both new and old franchise stars, we have yet to see a trailer and first sight of any of the main cast — which this time around will including theJurassic Worldregulars Chris Pratt andBryce Dallas Howardand originalJurassic Parkcast members Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum. However, thanks toTotal Film’s 2022 preview—via GamesRadar, we now have been given a first look at Bryce Dallas Howard’s Clare Dearling in a pretty precarious situation.

In the new image from the movie, we see Clare attempting to keep her head above the water of a tropical, algae-topped body of water, which in itself is enough to cause stress for anyone who constantly wonders what kind of creatures may lurk beneath the surface. However, it seems that Clare may have more concerns than what could nibble her toes, as just behind her are the feet of what appears to be a pretty big dinosaur.

TheJurassic Worldfranchise has seen a successful version of John Hammond’s disastrous dinosaur-based theme park brought to life until the release of a new man-made creature called the Indominus Rex brought about chaos. InJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the island housing the two former parks was destroyed by a volcanic eruption, with many of the dinosaurs being removed to the estate of Hammond’s old business partner Benjamin Lockwood, who has his own plans for exploiting the prehistoric beasts. By the end of the movie, dinosaurs are once again walking the Earth but this time they have human company. How it will all end will be revealed withJurassic World Dominionin June.

From what we know so far, the arrival of numerous dinosaurs into the world has not gone that smoothly, as you would expect when many of the extinct beasts have a taste for meat and have essentially been given free run of the abattoir. Along with the prequel segment released online last month, which ends with a T-Rex charging its way through a drive-in movie theater, being pursued by a helicopter, back in 2019 when it was believedDominionwould be released the following year, we were also givenThe Battle At Big Rock, which showed more people being terrorized by dinosaurs, which in all gives a pretty big indicator of how things have been going when we pick up events at the start of the film.

Jurassic World Dominion

Jurassic World: Dominionis expected to be one of the big blockbusters of 2022, considering the previous movies became two of the biggest grossing films of all time. This time around, there is the added pull of it being a legacy sequel, which joins together the worlds ofJurassic ParkandJurassic Worldin a way thatJurassic World: Fallen Kingdomfailed to do with its all-too-brief cameo of Jeff Goldblum as Ian Malcolm. We have been promised much meatier roles for all three of the returning original cast, and a true climax to the series, although it has been hinted that there could be further movies to come for the much-loved franchise.
