Carol Danvers has been spotted on Vormir in behind-the-scenesAvengers: Endgameimages. WasCaptain Marveloriginally going to help out Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton acquire the Soul Stone? In an earlier version of the script, there was going to be a battle on Vormir with Romanoff and Barton up against Thanos and his army. However, that idea was later taken out in an effort to give Romanoff and Barton a more emotional moment. But where does Danvers fit into this whole situation?
The latest behind-the-scenes image fromAvengers: Endgamefeatures Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers on the Vormir set, though it isn’t clear why. She has her 2014 hair style, so this would have to be before Romanoff and Barton went their during the time heist. Further detective work uncovers that the image is actually a still from theCaptain MarvelBlu-ray special features, which adds another layer of mystery. With that being said, Larson may have been on the set that day for something unrelated, possibly a costume fitting or test shots since some ofEndgameandInfinity Warwere shot at the same time.
While it seems strange to see Carol Danvers onVormir, it’s more than likely something having to do with the making ofCaptain Marvel. Brie Larson shot her first scenes as Danvers forEndgame, so this would seem to make the most sense for now. The original earlier battle scene on Vormir did not make any mention of other Avengers coming to the rescue and the route Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely went was the right choice. Hopefully we’ll get some clarification whenEndgamecomes out on Blu-ray.
Captain Marvelis now available to stream or purchase digitally and will be available on June 11th on Blu-ray. The movie was able tocross the $1 billion mark at the box officeand is still in theaters as of this writing after getting a significant boost, thanks to the release ofAvengers: Endgame. Disney and Marvel Studios are probably hoping thatSpider-Man: Far From Homewill do the same thing forEndgameto help it get take down James Cameron’sAvataras the highest grossing movie of all time.
After seeingCaptain Marveland watching the character inEndgame, it’s going to be interesting to see how everything works out in theMarvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming Phase 4. Carol Danvers has been hailed as the next Tony Stark by Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, which means were probably about to see a lot more about her in the near future. Regardless, the world has changed quite a bit after the effects ofEndgameand there are going to be new heroes coming on board to save the universe now.
