Ghosted Receives Negative Reviews for Lack of Chemistry Between Leads

Ghosted’s combination of big-name actors and exciting plot seemed like a recipe for success, but unfortunately, the movie has failed to impress critics. One of the significant criticisms is its lack of chemistry between the two leads. Despite having worked together previously onKnives OutandThe Gray Man, Ana de Armas and Chris Evans fail to create a believable connection between their characters. This further weakens the movie’s impact and leaves the audience feeling unsatisfied. As a result, despite the movie’s star power, it has received negative reviews and has beencalled the “worst movie of the year” by some critics.

In hisreview of Ghosted, Movieweb’s Julian Roman shares the common sentiment among critics that the movie’s use of big-name cameos fails to compensate for the lack of a believable connection between the lead actors. While the big-name cameos are humorous, they are too brief to have a significant impact on the movie’s overall quality.

“Ghosted can’t figure out how to make its individually likable leads work as a couple. The premise of a needy farmer accidentally falling for a lethal secret agent had promise. Opposites attract and love blooms while bullets fly. Sounds good on paper, but there needs to be a tangible connection tying the mismatched pair together. The film packs on the star power with a barrage of big name cameos. These scenes are relatively humorous but too fleeting to make a difference.”

Although Chris Evans has made it clear that he will no longer be playing Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he has been actively involved in various upcoming projects. Among them isRed One, a highly anticipated holiday action movie co-starring Dwayne Johnson, and David Yates' upcoming conspiracy dramaPain Hustlers. Meanwhile, Ana de Armas has also been keeping busy with her upcoming movie,Ballerina, aJohn Wickspinoff that promises to be an action-packed adventure. Despite the mixed reception ofGhosted, both actors have a promising lineup of upcoming projects that are expected to showcase their talents in new and exciting ways.
