Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) are finally jumping over to the MCU inDaredevil: Born Again. Fans have long been curious about how the rebooted series will handle their transition to the new franchise, and thankfully, Charlie Cox is saving the day by filling us in on how Marvel Studios is handling the hero’s big move.

Cox played the titular vigilante for three seasons in the critically adoredDaredevil,which first premiered on Netflix before leaping over to Disney+. Speaking toEmpire Magazine, Cox addressed Daredevil’s migration to Disney+ inDaredevil: Born Again. The actor revealed that Marvel Studios had various discussions about how to handle Daredevil given the prior context of the Netflix series.“There was talk early on about reinventing the whole thing, to see if Matt was a slightly different person,“he said.

However, those discussions all led to one place. Cox confirmed thatDaredevil: Born Againisn’t a reboot, and will continue Matt Murdock’s story from the beloved original. He continued:

“But it ended up more of a continuation. A lot of the history follows on. The relationships and dynamics set up in the previous seasons still exist.”

As well as cluing audiences in on the status of the originalDaredevil’s canon, Empire’s story also comes with the first look at Matt Murdock, Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), and Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) inDaredevil: Born Again. The still shows the beloved trio walking through Hell’s Kitchen.

When the “reboot” was first announced, Karen and Foggy’s return was a point of contention at Marvel Studios, with many believing Matt Murdock’s inseparable legal partners wouldn’t be joining him in the MCU.
