It’s brand new. 20th Century Fox released the high-res version of the image after plenty of people pulled this same still out of the trailer that debuted earlier this month. It shows Wade Wilson suited up and showing off his firearm skills, as he soars through the air dispatching bad guys. True to his word, the actor appeared on TBS' late-night talk showConanon August 5th to debut the R-rated footage. Shortly following the premiere, we went so far as to break down every frame of this trailer, and that’s probably why the new photo feels so familiar.

Deadpoolwas one of the big hits at SDCC last month, positioning the superhero movie to possibly become one of 2016’s first big blockbusters at the box office, when it debuts June 30, 2025. The comic book adaptation goes up againstHow to Be Singleand the Paramount comedy sequelZoolander 2. The first trailer forZoolander 2debuted last week, which was also received positively by the fans, so we could have a unique box office showdown in the works next February.
Not too long ago,Deadpoolwas stuck in development hell at20th Century Fox, until someone leaked the early test footage, which the fans responded to in an overwhelmingly positive way. It still isn’t known exactly who leaked that footage, butRyan Reynoldshas even thanked this anonymous person publicly, acknowledging that the movie may not have been green lit if the footage wasn’t leaked.
