Exactly one month ago today,Justice LeaguestarBen Affleckgave fans quite the surprise by posting a brief video that clearly showed the iconic characterDeathstrokeon the set.Joe Manganiellowas cast a few weeks later, but that report revealed he will be the main villain inBen Affleck’s stand aloneBatmanreboot, with no official word that he was appearing inJustice League. But now we have yet another hint. DirectorZack Snydersent out a cryptic set photo today, which appears to have a hidden Deathstroke message.

The director sent out a photo onTwitter, where he’s seen wearingBatman’s gauntlet, while doing some storyboarding work on a tablet. Another Twitter user dubbed “DC Extended Universe” enhanced the photo which reveals that the director may in fact have been working on a scene with Deathstroke. We still haven’t gotten any iron-clad confirmation about whether or not Deathstroke will appear in the movie, but with bothBen AffleckandZack Snyderdropping some not-so-subtle hints, don’t be surprised if he turns up whenJustice Leaguedebuts next fall.

It isn’t known ifJoe Manganiellohas been present on the set, or if that was actually him in costume whenBen Afflecksent out that cryptic video. Since he will be the primary villain in the Batman reboot, it certainly does make sense to introduce him inJustice League, before theBatmanmovie hits theaters, which still doesn’t have a release date in place. No plot details have surfaced for the reboot yet, but there have been reports that several of the primary Batman villains from the DC Comics will be featured.

Aside fromJoe Manganiello, no other cast members have been announced for the Batman reboot, which Time Warner CEOJeff Bewkesteased earlier this week would be released in roughly a year and a half, in the spring of 2018.Ben Affleckis starring and directing from a script he co-wrote with DC Films chiefGeoff Johns, although no production schedule or release date has been confirmed. It has been rumored that the Batman reboot would take the July 22, 2025 release date already set aside by Warner Bros., but that hasn’t been set in stone either.

Warner Bros. has set a August 25, 2025 release date forJustice League. This superhero ensemble also starsHenry Cavill,Gal Gadot,Ezra Miller,Ray Fisher,Jason Momoa, who were all featured in this spring’sBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
