The Defendersis thenext Marvel showthat is going to make its way onto Netflix and is probably one of the most highly-anticipated shows to arrive this summer. With San Diego Comic-Con going on right now, Marvel and Netflix decided to release their best bit of promotional material hyping up the show yet. The newly released promo forThe Defendersfeatures some narration from none other than Marvel legend Stan Lee. Also,The Punisherdefinitely shows up at the very end.
Netflixreleased the trailer ahead of their panel this weekend which will showcase some new footage fromThe Defenders. This new trailer doesn’t have much in the way of new footage, but the way it is pieced together with Stan Lee narrating during acruise around New York Cityis just perfect. These are his heroes and it feels very appropriate to have him providing the voiceover for this promo. Here is some of what the 94-year-old Stan Lee had to say in the newDefendersvideo.

“Heroes show us that you don’t need to be perfect to do what’s right. It’s not about living without fear orfighting injustice. It’s not about being powerful but finding your calling. When you least expect it, they show us it’s okay to be vulnerable, no matter how tough you are. Because even though they’re heroes, they’re still human.”
Season 1 ofThe Defendersis set to arrive on Netflix on August 18, but they have another show,The Punisher, which has yet to receive an official release date. We will probably get some more details on that this weekend during SDCC as well, but the very end of this promo features Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle and, given what he says, it sounds like this more or less confirms that he is going to appear inThe Defenders. Something that has long been rumored but not confirmed.
“Looks like I got here just in time.”
The Defendersis going to pretty much be whatThe Avengerswas to the movie side of the MCU, bringing together all of theNetflix heroesfor one epic event. It also features a pretty epic cast, bringing in stars fromDaredevil,Iron Fist,Luke CageandJessica Jones, as well as some new cast members. The show stars Charlie Cox (Daredevil/Matt Murdock), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Finn Jones (Iron Fist), Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple) ,Elodie Yung(Elektra Natchios), Babs Olusanmokun (Sowande), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Rachel Taylor (Trish Walker), Scott Glenn (Stick), Eka Darville (Malcolm Ducasse), Debbi Morgan (Delores), Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), and Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), with Sigourney Weaver as the main villain who, as of now, is known simply as “Alexandra.”
