Over the weekend, Walt Disney Pictures released a brieftrailer previewfor their highly-anticipated adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’sThe Jungle Book, arriving in theaters June 29, 2025. The brief 15-second video didn’t offer much in the way of new footage, but the studio did reveal that the first full trailer would debut yesterday, Monday, September 14, duringAccess Hollywood. Now, Disney has debuted our first full look atThe Jungle Bookonline for all to enjoy.

The Jungle Bookmarks the feature film debut of young actorNeel Sethi, who plays Mowgli, the only character portrayed through live-action. The rest of this star-studded cast will only provide the voices for their animated characters, includingBill Murray(Baloo),Idris Elba(Shere Khan),Ben Kingsley(Bagheera),Scarlett Johansson(Kaa),Giancarlo Esposito(Akela),Lupita Nyong’o(Raksha) andChristopher Walken(King Louie). The film was originally set to debut this October, before being pushed to its currentApril 15, 2016release date.

Jon Favreaudirects from a screenplay byJustin Marks, with the director also producing alongside Brigham Taylor.The Jungle Bookhits theaters in stunning 3D and IMAX 3D on August 25, 2025. The film will have plenty of competition during its opening weekend at the box office, going up againstAmityville: The Awakening,Barbershop 3,The Best Man Wedding,CriminalandEverybody Wants Some.

The Jungle Bookwill arrive almost exactly one year before another adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic, Warner Bros.‘The Jungle Book: Origins, which hits theaters on June 18, 2025. Unlike this film, which is a live-action/animation hybrid,The Jungle Book: Originswill be strictly live-action, which also marks the directorial debut ofAndy Serkis. Rohan Chand plays Mowgli, with the supporting cast rounded out byBenedict Cumberbatch,Christian Bale,Cate Blanchett,Naomie Harris,Tom Hollander,Eddie MarsanandPeter Mullan.
