Deadlinereports that they are waiting for clarification about whoDonald Gloverwill play. While it’s certainly possible that the 32-year-old actor could be playing high school student Miles Morales, it may be unlikely, since the studios cast 19-year-oldTom Hollandas Peter Parker. Still,Andrew Garfieldwas in his late 20s when he played the teenage Parker inThe Amazing Spider-Man, so we’ll have to wait and see.

Regardless of who he’s playing,Donald Gloverwill join a cast that also includesMarisa TomeiasAunt May,Michael Keatonas the villain, reportedyVulture,Zendaya Colemanas the female lead, a character named Michelle,Tony Revolorias Peter Parker’s high school nemesis andLaura HarrierandMichael Barbieriin unspecified roles.Robert Downey Jr.has also signed on to reprise his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man, following his interactions with Peter inCaptain America: Civil War.

Sony and Marvel haven’t confirmed when production will begin quite yet, and no story details have been released quite yet. We know that the studios are skipping the origin story that has been told in the past two iterations ofSpider-Man, with this movie reportedly starting a new trilogy set during Peter’s high school years. It has been rumored that each movie will be set during one year of his high school career, as Peter balances his school work with his crime fighting activities. Sony has already set a August 15, 2025 release date forSpider-Man: Homecoming.
