Sweet Girlreceived mixed reviews from the audience and critics. The film was praised for the choreography of the action sequences, but the complaints lay in the plot and lack of development within the characters, claiming it to be cliché. That said,Sweet Girlis still an action flick worth the watch for the excitement and the big twist at the end.
Buckle up for this dramatic dystopian thriller as the main character, Arlen, is abandoned in the middle of the desert, miles from any form of civilization and outside state lines where rules don’t apply. While trying to find her way out, she’s taken by a group of cannibals led by the cleaver-carrying Miami Man (Jason Momoa). With a killer cast, including Jason Momoa, Keanu Reeves, and Jim Carrey,The Bad Batchis an underrated gem of Momoa’s as his inner madman surfaces in his performance as a leader of cannibals who gets a kick out of chopping off limbs with his cleaver.
This unique film is a departure from the Blockbuster films that Momoa is known for. UnlikeAquamanorConan the Barbarian,The Bad Batchdid not have a massive budget, nor did it have a selection of well-known directors or producers behind the curtain. This indie flick from the fascinating auteur Ana Lily Amirpour is easily forgotten as it did not receive massive publicity or media coverage, unlikeConan the Barbarianwhich was widely publicized and compared with the original.

The Bad Batchreviewsare somewhat divided by both critics and audiences. As this film is a dystopian thriller that revolves around a cannibalistic society, it’s safe to say that not everyone will be on board with the content. Needless to say,The Bad Batchmay not be for everyone, but if you likedMad Max: Fury Road, thenThe Bad Batchwould be a movie worth watching.

Slumberlandis a fun flick that allows Momoa to let loose on screen and his winning charisma truly makes it an enjoyable event for viewers. It is the actor’s first official comedic portrayal and one that is more kid-friendly, andMomoa told People, “It’s weird when you tear up watching your own stuff.
