Believe it or not,Netflixhas actually been around for over 25 years. Remember getting DVDs in the mail? But in that quarter-century-plus history, thousands of movies and TV series have come and gone from the platform. Plenty of titlesleft in May, and changing out content is nothing new. Netflix regularly rotates content to make room for new additions to its catalog. Removed titles always tend to be controversial, so what’s leaving Netflix at the start of summer?

Superhero fans and raunchy comedy aficionados should keep their eyes open. An iconic movie monster clash is expiring soon, alongside a hallmark of the gangster genre. Plus, dozens more titles are on their way out. Here’s a sampling of some of the best films leaving the Netflix platform this June.

‘Ted’ and ‘Ted 2’

OK, this one’s a little tonally different fromBatman. Seth MacFarlane’s foul-mouthed teddy bear is also signing off from Netflix at the start of the month. MacFarlane plays the titular Ted, a stuffed animal brought to life by his human John’s childhood wish. The originalTedwas an unexpected smash hit in 2012, netting $550 million worldwide. That makes it the second-highest-grossing R-rated comedy of all time, behindThe Hangover Part II. But the sequel only hit $215 million in 2015.

The franchise lived on via a prequel television series on Peacock beginning in 2024. There’s alsoan animated adaptationin the works. Original stars MacFarlane, Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, and Jessica Barth are set to return. Unfortunately, it looks like Netflix is the only streamer to watchTedwithout paying to rent it. So, fans who haven’t seen it or need a rewatch should tune in before the start of June.TedandTed 2are leaving Netflix on June 1.
