20th Century Fox has released a new viral video and featurette for their highly-anticipatedFantastic Fourreboot, arriving in theaters August 7. The viral video is a presentation given by Harvey Elder (Tim Blake Nelson) to the Department of Defense, where he breaks down the incredible powers given to Mr. Fantastic (Miles Teller), The Human Torch (Michael B. Jordan), The Invisible Woman (Kate Mara) and The Thing (Jamie Bell). He also offers an answer to one burning question: WhyThe Thingisn’t wearing any pants.

Harvey Elder explains that, to “harness the power” of theFanastic Four, they created state-of-the-art “containment suits,” or “C-suits.” Since The Thing’s powers are in no need of being “harnessed,” Harvey reveals that it “wasn’t necessary” for a containment suit to be made for The Thing. Harvey also teases the Quantum Zone, the alternate dimension whereMarvel’s First Family received their powers, revealing the true purpose for this presentation. He is trying to get the DoD to provide funding to send more people into the Quantum Zone, most likely to use them as weapons.

The studio has also released a featurette where we see how The Thing is actually named in thissuperhero movie. Much likeMichael Chiklis' version of The Thing in 2005’sFantastic Four,Jamie Bell’s Thing doesn’t take an immediate liking to his new moniker. We’ll have to wait and see if the name eventually grows on him as the story progresses. We also hear from the rest of the cast, withKate Mararevealing that they are all much stronger when they work together.

Fantastic Four, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.Reg E. Catheyalso co-stars as Dr. Franklin Storm,The Invisible Womanand The Human Torch’s father, withToby Kebbellportraying the villainous Doom.

Fantastic Fouris the last superhero movies to hit theaters during the summer movie going season, and it could very well be its last big blockbuster until the late fall. 20th Century Fox has already set upThe Fantastic Four 2, releasing August 01, 2025.
