AMC has released a trailer teasing their upcoming slate of high-profile projects, with the new promo revealing our first look at the forthcomingInterview With the Vampiretelevision series. Released byAMC+, the montage of footage is joined by the caption “Iconic characters. Epic new worlds. Legendary series,” and offers the first footage ofJacob Andersonand Sam Reid as vampires Louis and Lestat.

“I give death…to those deserving,” Lestat says to a terrified-looking Louis in the clip, teasing the character’s antihero nature. Based on Anne Rice’s 1976 novel of the same name,Interview With the Vampirewill follow journalist Daniel Malloy, whose career has suffered many ups and downs, and is given a second chance to interview a vampire named Louis de Pointe du Lac.

Much like the 1994 movie starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt before it,Interview With the Vampireis expected to be framed by a present-day interview, flashing back to when Louis de Pointe du Lac was first transformed into a creature of the night by the sadistic Lestat de Lioncourt. StarringGame of Thronesstar Jacob Anderson andBellestar Sam Reid, rumors have circulated claiming thatAMC’s new take on the story will undergo some significant changes in its approachbut is likely to maintain the most iconic and memorable elements.

Interview with the Vampirewill reportedly consist of 8-episodes and is being executive produced by Jessica Held and Mark Johnson, with Rolin Jones attached to write and executive produce the series. Production onInterview With the Vampiretook place across various locations, including New Orleans, Paris, and Eastern Europe.Interview with the Vampireis due to debut on AMC and AMC+ sometime in 2022.
