Hollywood iconHarrison Fordjoins the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in the upcoming sequelCaptain America: New World Order, and we now have our first look at theIndiana Jonesactor courtesy of several set images. Captured byJust Jared(and shared to social media), these images from the filming of theCaptain Americasequel reveal Ford as Thunderbolt Ross, who has now become President of the United States. And, sadly, he is not sporting Thunderbolt’s patented mustache. Check out the images below.
Not only do these images provide our first look at Ford’s MCU debut, but they also revealthe return ofThe Incredible Hulkstar Tim Blake Nelson as the scientist Samuel Sterns. The character is expected to transform into the supervillain known as The Leader inCaptain America: New World Order, and while the actor is looking much like he always does in the images, the eagle-eyed among us will have spotted that he is sporting green hands.
Directed by Julius Onah and written by Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, plot details forCaptain America: New World Orderremain largely unknown, but it is expected that the Marvel sequel will pick up following the events of the Disney+ seriesThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier, exploring how taking on the mantle of Captain America has affected Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson.
As for Ford,he does not really know why he decided to join the MCU in the first place. “I don’t know. I can’t explain myself to myself, I just work here,” the actor said back in February. “I thought, “Everybody else seems to be having a great time.” I watch all these terrific actors having a good time [in Marvel movies]. I like doing something different to what I’ve ever done and pleasing people with it. So I’ll try a piece of that.”

Captain America: New World Order Will Also Bring Back Liv Tyler as Betty Ross
Intriguingly,Captain America: New World Orderis quickly becoming a reunion ofThe Incredible Hulk.Released back in 2008, and one of the first outings in the MCU, theCaptain Americasequelis all set to bring back Liv Tyler as Betty Rossalongside Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns aka The Leader, and Harrison Ford as Thunderbolt Ross, who takes over the role from the late, great William Hurt.
How exactly the Ross family and Sterns will fit into proceedings in unknown,but further set images have shown Betty attending a funeralalongside Anthony Mackie Captain America.
After debuting inCaptain America: New World Order,Ford is also due to appear in the team-up movie,Thunderbolts, which will follow a group of heroes and antiheroes, including Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbour), and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko).
Captain America: New World Orderis scheduled to be released in the United States on June 14, 2025, as part of Phase Five of the MCU.Thunderboltsmeanwhile is also expected to begin this year before being released on June 04, 2025.
