J.J. Abrams has shared the first official clip fromThe Rise of Skywalker. Disney and Lucasfilm are really starting the promotional push for the highly anticipated movie. The clip teases an awesome chase scene, which fits right in line with theStar Warsfranchise. It also does a good job of not spoiling anything about the movie, so fans who are worried about not wanting to see too much before the movie hits theaters should be just fine with watching the short clip.

According to J.J. Abrams,The Rise of Skywalkerclip takes place at the beginning of the movie. The scene in question has been teased in the latest promotional material and takes place on thedesert planet of Pasaanawhile the Resistance is on the run. They are being chased by the new Jet Troopers, which catch our heroes off guard since they didn’t know that the First Order can fly now. It’s also a little dose of comedy, which is somethingStar Warsfans either love or hate.

J.J. Abrams also confirmed that reshoots forThe Rise of Skywalkerwere still happening in October, though he saysThe Force Awakenswas the same way, so he didn’t really fret about it. Fans have been curious as to what these reshoots were all about since there has been a lot ofStar Wars fan theoriestied to early set leaks. Speaking of which, the director also confirmed that the script that found its way to eBay was legit, though he wouldn’t mention who was responsible.

The Rise of Skywalkerhas some extra pressure to deliver and not only because it’s thefinal movie in the Skywalker Saga. First, it’s the first movie on the big screen to come afterSolo, which didn’t perform as well as the studio would have hoped. Secondly,The Mandalorianseems to have perfected a recipe that nearly allStar Warsfans can agree on. It hits a lot of notes that many believe the sequel trilogy should have done. With that being said, we could see a tie-in to the movie on the show in the days leading up to the premiere.

The Mandalorianis releasing two episodes the week ofThe Rise of Skywalker’s premiere. There will be an episode on Wednesday and then Friday. This could all be just some clever marketing byDisneyto keep theStar Warsfranchise in the news cycle, but some fans are hoping that there will be a bigger connection. While that is completely speculation, it would be pretty amazing and Marvel Studios-like if they were able to pull all of that off in secret. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see. Luckily, the wait is just about over. You can check outThe Rise of Skywalkerclip below, thanks to theGood Morning America Twitteraccount. The clip starts at the 1:58 mark.
