Danger and death are surroundingFrank Grillo. On screen that is. Either way,The Purgefranchise actor has a lot to say about it. He enters James Gunn’s new DCU, lending his voice as Rick Flag Sr. inCreature Commandos(debuting on Max in December), then inPeacemakerSeason 2 and again in the highly anticipatedSupermanreboot, which drops next summer. The ever-busy actor also headlines Steven C. Miller’sWerewolves, a trippy horror romp he calls “quite a journey,” about a supermoon event that sparks a mutation that turns people into werewolves. Ironically, he once pitched it as “The Purgemeets werewolves.” And he still gets asked about being inThe Purge 6,to which he has a candid reply:

They talk aboutThePurge 6.I don’t know if I’ll be part of it, but I mean, it’d be crazy not to have me, I think.

The Purge Movies in Order Chronologically and by Release Date

The Purge movies are highly praised for their dystopian horror storylines. Here’s how to watch them in chronological order and by release date.

Werewolves in Paris, Anyone?

“When I first got involved [inWerewolves], that was kind of the idea,”Grillo shared about potential sequels. “That if we pull this off and it works… you know, let’s take this and we’ll travel. We can go to Paris, we can go to Morocco. There are wolves everywhere. So, hopefully it works.” Chances are it just might, based on the film’s plot, our love of werewolf horror films, and the way director Steven C. Miller executed the story with impressive practical effects, which has horror fans buzzing. Plus, there’s great love for anything these days that offers a trippythrowback to 1980s horror, andWerewolvesdefinitely has that vibe. Of working with Miller, Grillo said:

“I want to give props to Stephen C. Miller because, you know, I personally didn’t understand what this was going to be to the extent that it’s becomethismovie. Every once in a while, I turned to him, looking at these practical wolves and would go, ‘Is this going to work? Are we going to be able to do it in post?' And I was as surprised as anybody. When I saw the movie, I was like, ‘Oh, this looks like Universal made the movie.’”

The horror film is intense from the get-go and bloody as hell. Fun all around for any horror fan. And sure enough, Grillo is ready to work with Miller again, noting, “I’d love to do this again with him because we’ve got some cool ideas. He’s a great action director, and I think he’s coming into his own. This movie will put Steven onto another level as a director. I really think people are going to take notice of what he’s capable of, so I’ll do anything with him. I have all the confidence in the world in him." Quite the endorsement.Werewolveshits theaters December 6.

Werewolves
