It’s finally here! Check out the teaser trailer for the second season ofFuture Man, Hulu’s hit comedy series from the guys who brought youSausage Party! Season 2 premieres Friday, January 11, only on Hulu. And I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for these new episodes to get here.
Future Manslowly found its audience when it was released almost exactly a year ago onHulu, but it never quite became the phenomenon thatStranger Thingsmanaged on Netflix. Both are sci-fi adventures that heavily pull from the past in a pastiche of crazy nostalgia. The difference is thatStranger Thingstakes itself very seriously.Future Manis a wild comedy that goes to great lengths to make its audience laugh, while being quite raunchy and ribald at the same time. You could almost say it’s a little ahead of it’s time.
Season two picks up in 2162, andJosh, Wolf, and Tigerlearn that their season one mission to stop the cure from getting out didn’t work. In this timeline, Stu Camillo is now in power, having created the cure, and launched a plan to relocate humanity to Mars. A shadowy organization called the Pointed Circle seeks to recruit Josh to take Stu down, but are they the good guys, or is Stu? As Wolf quickly acclimates to the strange customs of this time, Tiger struggles with her Biotic identity and searches for an escape. Josh unites the team in an epic plan to save the world, but theirtime-travelingcatches up to them, and they must reckon with their choices and what to do next.

It’s created, written and executive produced by Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir (Sausage Party,Preacher) and executive produced by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Matt Tolmach, James Weaver and Ben Karlin.
Many people were turned off by some of the jokes in the very first episode ofFuture Man, which went to great lengths to be thoroughly disgusting. It was almost a test for the audience, if you’re able to make it past this, you can make it past the rest. And those who stuck around were treated to one of the grandest comedy adventures of 2017.
More than a year will have passed between seasons, as some audience members try to catch up. Season 2 already looks like it will live up to the wacky legacy laid out in the first season, which stole gleefully fromThe Terminator,Back to the FutureandTop Gun. These latest episodes have a heavyMad Maxvibe, but we’re sure to see even more obscure references as this thing goes completely off the rails.
