Ever since the tumultuous events ofGame of Thrones' death-filledSeason 5finale,Mother’s Milk, there have been several burning questions on the minds of fans. The finale was even more torturous since we can’t look ahead toGeorge R.R. Martin’s books, as the show has caught up to those story lines and the author has yet to publish the final two novels in hisA Song of Fire and Iceseries. One of the biggest burning questions from the finale has seemingly been answered, withThe Daily Mailposting new photos from the set earlier today. Be warned, there will be plenty ofSPOILERSif you aren’t caught up with the show thus far, so read on at your own risk.
Mother’s Milkfeatured the death of beloved characterJon Snow(Kit Harington), whose death at the hands of his treacherous Night’s Watch brothers sent shockwaves throughout the Internet, with many fans wondering if he’s really dead or not. ShowrunnersDavid BenioffandD.B. Weisshave said on several occasions that the beloved character is in fact dead, althoughKit Haringtonhimself teased in an interview that he may be coming back. And he was spotted arriving in Ireland earlier this summer, while production was under way. While there have been rumors thatKit Haringtonhas been spotted on the set, today we have photographic proof from the Northern Ireland shoot.
Naturally, no details were given regarding the scene he’s filming, but the character has seemingly rejoined the Stark clan, having ditched his all-black Night’s Watch costume, seen wearing “Stark clothes,” with a sword at his side. Since the Stark’s are spread out all over Westeros, with Sansa (Sophie Turner) fleeing Winterfell with Reek/Theon (Alfie Allen), Bran (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) still North of The Wall, Arya (Maisie Williams) in Braavos and Rickon (Art Parkinson) missing since the end ofSeason 3, it isn’t known exactly where this scene takes place, but it’s clear that Snow is still alive and well. There are rumors that he heads to Winterfell to reclaim his home from the nefarious Bolton clan, but that hasn’t been confirmed. How he gets brought back to life, though, is another question entirely.
We also have more photos from a differentGame of Thronesset in Navarra, Spain, featuringEmilia Clarkeas Daenerys Targaryen,Iain Glenas Jorah Mormont and Michiel Huisman as Daario Naharis. One of the other cliffhangers in theSeason 5finale involved the fate of Daenerys, who escaped an assassination attempt from the Sons of the Harpy, fleeing Meereen on her dragon. The last time we saw Daenerys she was surrounded by a horde of Dothraki soldiers, leaving her fate uncertain. Since Jorah and Daario didn’t escape with her, but are both seen with her now, it’s possible they embarked on some sort of rescue mission, which seemed to turn out for the best since Dany appears to be leading these Dothraki soldiers.
HBO hasn’t announced apremiere dateforSeason 6ofGame of Thrones, but it will likely debut in either early April or late march, since that is when all of the previous seasons have debuted. New casting additions includeIan McShanein an unspecified role,Pilou Asbæk, who has been rumored to be playing Euron Greyjoy, the uncle of Alfie Allen’s Theon Greyjoy,Max von Sydowas the Three-Eyed Raven,Richard E.
