George R.R. Martin Has Promised That House of the Dragon Won’t Disappoint
With the wayGame of Thronesconcluded, fans are hesitant to devote their time and attention toHouse of the Dragon, fearing it too will disappoint in the end. However,George R.R. Martinhas assured fans that he isheavily involved in the productionofHouse of the Dragon, and the series will definitely live up to expectations. Martin has seen rough cuts ofHouse of the Dragonand is quite happy so far with how the series has turned out. He recently wrote on hisblog:
“I saw rough cuts of a couple more episodes of HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, and was just as pleased as I was with the earlier episodes. Ryan and Miguel and their cast and crew are doing great work. Those of you who like complex, conflicted, grey characters (as I do) will like this series, I think. There will be plenty of dragons and battles, to be sure, but the spine of the story is the human conflicts, the love and the hate, character drama rather than action/ adventure.”

House of the Dragonis created by Ryan J. Condal (Colony, Hercules) and George R.R. Martin. Condal also serves as co-showrunner alongside Miguel Sapochnik, who is known for directing some of the best episodes ofGOT, likeThe Battle of the BastardsandHardhome.GOTcreators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss won’t be involved in any capacity on the series.
House of the Dragonwill premiere on HBO on June 26, 2025.
