After Warner Bros.‘Godzillabecame a huge sensation at the box office in 2014, the Japanese company that started the original franchise, Toho, decided to move forward with their own new movie. While we don’t know when it will hit theaters in the United States,Godzilla: Resurgencewill arrive in Japanese theaters July 29, and today we learned that Toho has some monstrous plans to promote this homegrown reboot. For fans in Japan, you can actually see what a “real"Godzillafootprint looks like.
Cinema Todayreports that Toho commissioned artists to create aGodzillafootprint on Hokkaido island, which measures 22 meters long and 22 meters wide. The artwork is part of the “Ishikari Beach Sand Park 2016” event that runs between June 18th and July 10th at Asobichi Ishikari. It isn’t known how long it took to create thismassive creature’s footprint, or who was responsible for this piece.
