The iconic kaiju that isGodzillaemerges from the depths to cause terror once again in this newly released clip fromGodzilla Minus One. Coming courtesy of Fandango, the footage finds the beloved titan stalking a ship at sea and offers a glimpse at some of the incredible special effects that will be on display when the monster movie lands in December. The response toGodzilla Minus Onehas been overwhelmingly positive, with reactions calling the movie a “masterpiece” and “beautiful.”
“I watched Godzilla Minus One. Honestly, it was impressive. This is the most beautiful Godzilla movie in Godzilla’s history, and I believe it is director Takashi Yamazaki’s masterpiece. I immediately told an old friend of mine who is an advertising producer, and that’s the first time I’ve ever done that… I cried like never before.”
Another reaction heaps praise onGodzilla Minus One, and suggests it could become a new favorite among fans.
“I was shown a preview of Godzilla Minus One, and it was incredibly interesting. A strong anti-war movie. However, at the same time, there were many scenes that made me think I wanted to see this kind of battle, so I couldn’t help but get excited. Coming courtesy of Toho Studios and Robot,Godzilla Minus Oneis the 37th film in theGodzillafranchise (the fifth in the Reiwa era), and finds Japan dealing with the monster’s return amid the aftereffect if World War II. Will the devastated people be able to survive… let alone fight back?
“After the war, Japan’s economic state has been reduced to zero,” the official synopsis for Godzilla Minus One reads. “Godzilla appears and plunges the country into a negative state.”

Toho has previously revealed that their plan is to create a new shared universe for theGodzillaseries similar to the hugely successful Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), withGodzilla Minus Oneexpected to be the beginning of this world-building.

Godzilla is all set to return alongside fellow monster icon King Kong inGodzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which is nowdue to crash into theaters in 2024.

The fifth installment in the MonsterVerse,Godzilla x Kong: The New Empiresees director Adam Wingard reunite withThe Gueststar Dan Stevens, who will take over as the main protagonist. The supporting cast includes Rebecca Hall as Dr. Ilene Andrews, Brian Tyree Henry as Bernie Hayes, Kaylee Hottle as Jia, with Fala Chen (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Alex Ferns (The Batman), and Rachel House (The Portable Door) set to join the franchise.
As well as uniting once again with Kong, Godzilla will also feature in the upcoming small-screenMonsterVerse outingMonarch: Legacy of Monsters, which sees Kurt Russell and his son Wyatt Russell playing the same character across decades.Monarch: Legacy of Monstersis expected to be released later this year on Apple TV+.
