Warner Bros.‘Green Lantern Corps.is currently the last movie announced for the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) slate, hitting theaters on July 31, 2025. It isn’t surprising that this movie is still in the very early stages of development. The studio hasn’t announced a writer or director to tackle this comic book adventure, but there have been a number of rumors swirling around this project. Today we have yet another unconfirmed report, which reveals that DC & Warner Bros. may be eyeing a beloved director to take on the Green Lantern universe,Mad Max: Fury RoaddirectorGeorge Miller.

Many fans know thatGeorge Millerhas a history in the DC universe, since he was slated to direct a highly-anticipatedJustice Leaguemovie way back in 2007, before the project was halted by the writers strike. After the success ofMad Max: Fury Roadlast year, rumors started to swirl that Warner Bros. wantedGeorge Millerto direct an unspecifiedDC movie. But nothing was ever confirmed. During the latest episode of Heroic Insider, it’s revealed that this unspecified movie may beGreen Lantern Corps. Here’s what was said on the show.

“Let me tell you what I’m hearing - I know something, I heard something yesterday. The hot rumor isGeorge Miller… Boom!George Milleris being rumored to direct theGreen Lantern Corpsmovie, and I think it’d be perfect for him, are you kidding me?George Miller. Again, it’s just a rumor right now, I just literally heard this yesterday.”

Ever since theGreen Lantern Corpstitle was announced, it was believed that this movie will feature a number of differentGreen Lantern characters, including Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart. Last week, another rumor surfaced that both Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart will be featured alongside another Earth-bound Lantern, Kyle Rayner. Since no writer or director is on board yet, it’s certainly possible that Kyle Rayner could be included in this story, but his involvement is by no means confirmed.

ProducerCharles Rovenpreviously hinted that they don’t plan on introducingGreen LanternuntilJustice League Part 2, which doesn’t hit theaters until August 08, 2025. Production is currently under way onJustice League Part 1in the U.K., but it isn’t known when the second part will start filming. As forGeorge Miller, the filmmaker has teased numerous times that he plans on making a smaller movie before tackling the inevitableMad Max: Fury Roadsequel, so it isn’t known if the filmmaker plans on carving out some time in his schedule to makeGreen Lantern Corps.
