According to Marvel and DC directorJames Gunn, the upcomingGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3film will be “different than what people expect.” During a recent interview, the director said that executives with Marvel Studios are surprised with how well the upcoming film is already coming together. With the success of the first two features, many fans are very excited to see what the upcoming threequel has in store. Filming forGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3began in late 2021, and is expected to last six to seven months and end roughly around April 2022.
“It’s going great.Chukwudi, who plays Murn inPeacemaker, is one of the main characters in the movie and people are freaking out over how good this guy is. Literally freaking out. I think that I’m really happy. I gave a bunch of scenes to Marvel right before Christmas break,” James Gunn toldColliderin a recent chat while on the press tour forPeacemaker.
Director James Gunn also name-dropped the Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige. “Kevin went… They were all really, really, really stoked,” Gunn added. “But also, it’s not going to be the movie people… It’s different than what people are going to expect. It’s a hard road, but I’m really happy with it so far.”
With most of the plot details still being kept under wraps, the biggest revelation for the upcoming film thus far was the officialannouncement of Will Poulter’s role as Adam Warlock.Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. The upcoming movie is produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film is written and directed by James Gunn and stars an ensemble cast featuring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, and Will Poulter.
I Am Groot and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special Update
In the same recent interview with Collider has mentioned above, theGuardians of the Galaxy Holiday Specialhasn’t started filming due to the increasing number of COVID cases in and around Hollywood. “It’s still upcoming in the shoot. We were supposed to shoot one day in LA, and there’s too much Omicron around, so we couldn’t do it,” Gunn added. “We’re going to have to fit it in. I haven’t started yet. I’m excited to. It’s fun. The holiday special is… I’m almost jealous of it, even though I wrote it because people freak out so much on how much they love the script for the holiday special that I’m almost like, ‘Well, wait. I’ve got this movie here I’ve been working on for two years. You love the holiday special that I literally wrote in a very short amount of time.’ But, it is really funny and really good.”
