Hazbin Hotelfinally had its chance to shine on Prime Video, and it certainly made a song and dance about it. Now fans are desperate for more from the world of Charlie Morningstar and her weird and wonderful associates, and creatorVivienne Medranopromises that the wait for Season 2 will not be as long as the first took to get off the ground after the pilot. Speaking toScreen Rant, Medrano said:
“Definitely not as long. I’m a big advocate for letting things take the time they need. And production, I mean, I literally actually don’t know the projected release date or aim or anything like that, but roughly season one took about one-and-a-half, two years. So I think it’s probably similar, just because we are in the early stages. However, that’s not nearly as long of a wait, and that’s kind of a normal wait for animation. So it’ll be a normal wait for animation. But I do think it’ll be worth it.”

In an exclusive interview withMovieWeb, Medrano revealed that she would love to take the show to Broadway.Hazbin Hotel, which revolves around the princess of Hell, Charlie Morningstar, began life as a web series and has found new success a series on Prime Video. The series features the voices of several major Broadway stars, including Erika Henningsen as the lead, with Medrano saying she would “absolutely” love to see itmake the leap onto stage.

“Oh my gosh, I would literally die if anything I was involved in made it to Broadway or was in a Broadway anything. So yes, absolutely. And it’s fun, it’s been mentioned so many times about what a live-action adaption would be like, and I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s such a big idea and concept.’ I mean someday it would be incredible, but you know, I have no idea. It really does, every song feels like it could be onstage. The songwriters killed it with that.”
Hazbin Hotel
The first season ofHazbin Hotelbegan on Amazon Prime Video in January, and follows Charlie, the princess of Hell, as she pursues her seemingly impossible goal of rehabilitating demons to peacefully reduce overpopulation in her kingdom. After a yearly extermination imposed by angels, she opens a hotel in the hopes that patrons will be “checking out” into Heaven.
While most of Hell mocks her goal, her devoted partner Vaggie, and their first test subject, adult-film star Angel Dust, stick by her side. When a powerful entity known as the “Radio Demon” reaches out to assist Charlie in her endeavors, her crazy dream is given a chance to become a reality.

Hazbin Hotel Has an Ensemble Cast
Alongside the idea of bringingHazbin Hotelto Broadway,we also asked Medranowhat it was like to have such big Broadway stars voicing the characters she created. She heaped praise on the ensemble cast, revealing that she was able to cast the exact talent she had in mind for each role.
“Oh my God, well so much of the cast, so many of the people who read for the show, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I know that name! I know all these people!’ And there was so much of that. And then there were also some people that were playing new characters that I was just like, ‘That’s who I have in mind.’ So we offered the role to them and they ended up taking it, and it was so cool. That was just such an amazing experience for me because, you know, it was just so incredible to have these people that I was already familiar with, like a part of my universe, playing these characters that matter so much to me, and I always wanted their voice to sound like them, and it’s real. So yeah, that was an amazing experience for a lot of characters.”
