TV revivalsare all the rage, and all of our favorite90s seriesare being resurrected for the small screen. We’ve already seenThe X-Filesreemerge as a viable event series. Next up isFuller House, which reunites theFull Houseclan on Netflix. And shooting right now as we speak is theGilmore Girls Revival Event Series. But there’s one show from the90sthat we probably won’t see get a reboot. And that’s The CW’s hit teen drama,Dawson’s Creek.

This might be for the best, since theDawson’s Creek Season 6finale brought everything to a close with a jump to the future, which showed where all the characters ended up. It brought much closure to Dawson, Joey, Pacey and Jen’s plight. Now, starKatie Holmeshas revealed why a Dawson’s Creek revival probably won’t ever happen. And it’s not because the actors don’t want toreunite. There is a much more sweet, simple reason behind the show staying locked into the 90s.

Speaking withUSA Today, the actress who played Joey explains that Dawson’s Creek is from a completely different era. It proceeds social media and all the pitfalls that come with it. This was, perhaps, the lastteen serieswhere characters could believably pass notes in class, or not be caught up on all the high school drama with one quick glance at their Twitter feed. Here’s how the actress explains the show’s tarpit like trappings.

“When I look back at the show, it had a certain charm that was available. It was before the Internet really took over, it was before iPhones, it was before this kind of new form of communication, and it had this certain feeling that was of the ’90s. I don’t think that in today’s world, you could achieve that same kind of feeling.”

Dawson’s Creek came fromScreamwriterKevin Williamson, and it redefined the teen dramas of that era. The show ended in 2003, and ever since, fans have wanted some kind of reunion. While the cast might get back together for a fun EW photo shoot sometime in the near future, don’t look for the future adventures of Dawson and Pacey to hit the small screen anytime soon. What do you think? Despite the actress' comments, do you still want to return to the Creek? Or is this one show best left in the dustbin of history?
