The production company released a new video earlier today confirming that franchise regularLin Shayewill be return asElise Rainer, along with announing the new director and a fall 2017 release date.

The video, which was posted on Blumhouse.com earlier today, showsLin Shayeplaying with a deck of tarot cards, when she’s joined byLeigh Whannellin producerJason Blum’s office. The actress, pouring over the cards, says she’s “getting something” before flipping them over to reveal thatInsidious Chapter 4will be written byLeigh Whannell, directed byAdam Robiteland it will hit theaters on July 28, 2025. As of now, the only other movie set for release on August 22, 2025 is Warner Bros.‘Live By Night, which starsBen Affleck.

Adam Robitelmade his feature film debut with 2014’sThe Taking of Deborah Logan, and he also wrote the screenplay for Blumhouse’sParanormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, which hit theaters last fall. OriginalInsidiousdirectorJames Wanis production alongside Blumhouse’sJason Blum,Oren PeliandLeigh Whannell.Steven Schneider,Brian Kavanaugh-JonesandCharles Laytonserve as executive producers, with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions financing the film. Domestic distribution will be handled by Universal Pictures, while Sony will handle international distribution.

With an October 2017 release date already in place, production will most likely start sometime later this year, although no further cast members have been confirmed aside fromLin Shaye. Last year’sInsidious Chapter 3served as a prequel to the first two movies, showing how psychic Elise Rainier used her abilities to help a teenage girlStefanie Scottwho had been haunted by a supernatural presence.Angus SampsonandLeigh Whannellalso reprised their on-camera roles as Tucker and Specs inInsidious Chapter 3, but we’ll have to wait and see if they’ll return inInsidious Chapter 4.

The originalInsidiousearned $54 million domestically and $97 million worldwide, from just a $1.5 million budget. The follow-upInsidious Chapter 2fared much better in theaters, taking in $83.5 million domestically and $161.9 million worldwide from a $5 million budget.Insidious Chapter 3earned $52.2 million domestically and $112.9 million worldwide from a $10 million budget.
