The singer and comedian has shed his clothes once again, but this time for charity, to deliver another unforgettable performance with his rendition of Swift singleAnti-Hero. Black is not only recognized in the world of cinema for his long list of films and television appearances, which turned him into one of the funniest guys in Hollywood, he also has a great connection with rock and roll, as one of the leading man of Tenacious D, a band he shares with fellow actor Kyle Gass. But Black decided to leave his favorite musical genre behind to go through his pop era and pay tribute to one of the artists of the moment for charity.
During the “Give Back-ular Spectacular” fundraiser event at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles, celebrated to raise money for SAG-AFTRA members who are being affected by the current strike, Black took the center of the stage to interact with the crowd. After a little warm up, the actor stripped down to his underwear and asked the attendants which song they wanted him to sing.
While some requested something he couldn’t perform because of the strike, probably a song from his movies, he ended up singing one that everyone knew according to him (via@UPROXX):

Black delivered a fun and even emotional version of the villain, who also stars in one of the best moments of the entire film and, obviously, is musical. The songPeachesand the scene where Bowser sings it have already become legendary, and for weeks it wasone of the most listened to songs, dominating the charts, to the point that many believe that it will be one of the great competitors in the Best Original Song category in the next ceremony of the Academy Awards.
Of course, it will be a difficult category sinceBarbie, the film that ended up stealing the number one spot at the box office fromThe Super Mario Bros. Movie, has another of the best musical numbers of the year starring Ryan Gosling,I’m Just Ken. It will undoubtedly be a truly epic moment if both actors get the chance to sing their respective songs during the ceremony, as they were both some of the high points of both movies.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie, however, has one big advantage overBarbie. Although the film directed by Greta Gerwig will surely be nominated in the Best Picture category, its competition will be tough with films likeKillers of the Flower Moon,NapoleonandOppenheimerall likely to also go in search of the most desired statuette. But the animated film has a good chance of winning the Best Animated Feature award after its incredible reception andgreat performance at the box office.
