To celebrate the occasion, we have an exclusive look behind the scenes at True Lies, with James Cameron discussing the casting process of the film and how he had to convince (or force, really) Arnold Schwarzenegger to let Jamie Lee Curtis star in the film.

Thank God he did, because Curtis delivered one of her greatest performances (and one of the sexiest, most confident performances from anyone in the ’90s). Curtis would go on to win a Golden Globe for her work in the film as a woman who learns her husband is a secret agent and gets involved with helping him. The storyline has been repeated again and again — not only does the movie have a television series reboot, but it has inspired films likeMr. and Mrs. SmithandRole Play, to name but two.
