It appearsJared PadaleckiandJensen Acklescould be giving fans theSupernaturalreunion they’ve been asking for, but not in the way they expected. In an interview withDeadline, Padalecki seems to have confirmed that he will indeed appear in season five of Prime Video’sThe Boys, the critically acclaimed superhero drama from Eric Kripke, the creator ofSupernatural.
Padalecki and Ackles starred as Sam and Dean Winchester throughout 15 seasons and 327 episodes ofSupernatural, as the brothers took on the family business of saving people and hunting things, including demons and creatures, and even the devil himself. The show has an incredibly loyal fan base that has clamored for a reunion ever since the final episode aired in November 2020. When asked byDeadlineif he would appear with hisSupernaturalco-stars onThe Boys, Padalecki confirmed a role was in the works.

The answer is yes, we have talked (about a role). As a matter of fact, we talked today. I think at this point in my acting life, I only want to work on projects that I really care about or with people that I really care about, and obviously Eric and I are indelibly connected forever.
If Padalecki does appear, it will be just in time, as theshow will end with the upcoming fifth season. While there seemed to be some ambiguity in his initial answer about discussions to appear, Padalecki followed up with a definitive statement that he was only waiting for a call to film a role:

I don’t think (Season 5) films until next year, but I will be ready when he makes the phone call. I’ll just say ‘Okay, when am I flying out?'

9 Supernatural Easter Eggs in The Boys
There are a ton of hidden Easter Eggs from Supernatural in The Boys, which makes sense, considering Eric Kripke developed both series.
Jensen plays Soldier Boy onThe Boysin season three and in its Prime Video spinoff,Gen V. Although he has yet to appear in season four, a future appearance is always a possibility. Morgan portrays Kessler on the series, an agent with history with Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher. Morgan continues to appear as Negan inThe Walking DeadspinoffDead City.

Kripke had discussed reuniting his Supernatural actorsfor some time, as their ongoing friendship and mutual respect made working together again a priority. “I mean, he created Supernatural. He created Sam Winchester,” Padalecki said. “He created Ruby (played by Genevieve Padalecki), who I ended up marrying and starting a family with. I adore him. I adore his humor. I adore him as a person, his storytelling. So I can’t wait.”
