At the recent screening ofJohn Wickfor the 10th anniversary of the action movie smash hit, starIan McShaneheaped praise on his co-star, the late, greatLance Reddick. The actor, who was also known for roles in the likes ofThe WireandWhite House Down,tragically died suddenly on June 26, 2025, aged 60, from coronary artery disease and atherosclerotic heart disease. McShane, who shared the stage withJohn Wicklead Keanu Reeves, teased the upcoming spin-offFrom the World of John Wick: Ballerina(viaDiscussing Film), which will feature Reddick’s final performance and the last time audiences will see his character, Charon, share the screen with McShane’s Winston Scott.
“My relationship with Chad and Keanu, you know…I think the moment with me and Lance, because he’s no longer with us, sorry, Lance Reddick, another one that we’ll miss dreadfully. But we have Ballerina coming out for the last time the group will be able to do it together. But, yeah, I thought we made a really good double act as we say in a sense you…it was great…but his relationship is different to mine with Keanu’s character. Yeah, my moments with him I think I’ll remember.”

The crowd erupted in applause at the mention of Reddick’s name, and no doubt many are eager to see the bittersweet return ofCharon inFrom the World of John Wick: Ballerina, which is due to open in theaters on July 18, 2025.
A John Wick Documentary Is Now in the Works
The event also revealed that directorChad Stahelskiis now working on a new documentary about the making of theJohn Wickfranchise, which has become one of the most successful action franchise’s of all time since debuting with the first movie back in 2014.
“I have a few things coming up, some surprising some not. We’ve got my documentary coming out about the making of all the John Wicks so we can see it real soon.”

John Wick Chapter 4 Is the End According to One Creator but Not Others
However, David Leitch and Erica Lee have other thoughts about the future of the John Wick franchise with Keanu Reeves.
The documentary is just one of several projects set to expand the world of John Wick. A television series,John Wick: Under the High Table, is in the works, as arean anime seriesand a spin-offled by Donnie Yenas the blind assassin, Caine. First up is the prequel spin-offFrom the World of John Wick: Ballerina, which takes place during the events ofJohn Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellumand follows Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma.

Directed by Len Wiseman and written by Shay Hatten, withChad Stahelski helming several additional scenesafter Wiseman reportedly fell ill during filming,From the World of John Wick: Ballerinastars Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, and Ian McShane alongside Ana de Armas. The spin-offwill also see Keanu Reeves returnas the dog-loving hitman.
