For more than a decade,Josh Hartnetthas kept the digital world at arm’s length, preferring not to put his face on social media like many of his peers. However, his latest movie,Fight or Flight, has delivered such incredible reviews that it has been enough to coax him into the modern world of TikTok dances, cat pictures, online trolls…yeah, maybe there is a reason that this could be a very limited appearance for the actor.

Fight or Flightis a new action moviethat sees Hartnett playing an ex-secret service agent on a plane from Bangkok to San Francisco that just happens to be full of assassins all out to kill the same person he has been tasked with tracking. While the premise sounds like plenty of other similar movies,Fight or Flighthas landed an unexpected 100% on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer score. Certainly by no coincidence, Hartnett chose the same day to “promote” his movie on Instagram, noting that he was doing so “before ghosting social media for another 10 years.” He’s probably not joking either.

“Exiled American agent Lucas Reyes is given one last chance to redeem himself - the assignment is to track down and identify a mysterious, international high-value asset known only as The Ghost on a flight from Bangkok to San Francisco. Complicating matters, the plane is filled with assassins from around the world who are assigned to kill them both. The pair must work together in a fight for their lives. At 37,000 feet, the stakes have never been higher."

While Hartnett’s social media moment may be a one-off, behind the scenes, he and director James Madigan have spent months championingFight or Flightas a throwback to thrillers such asPassenger 57andExecutive Decision. If the film soars at the box office, Hartnett may well put in another brief social media appearance before drifting back into the analogue world for another decade. Regardless,Fight or Flightis proving to be the right movie at the right time, as action thrillers are unable to do much wrong in the eyes of audiences. With such a positive reaction from critics, it is hard to seeFight or Flightbeing anything other than a fighting success when it releases next month.
