Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen

10Ryomen Sukuna (Season 1, Episode 1)

The show’s debut episode highlights why Yuji is sucha great protagonist. Despite being scared and essentially being powerless, Yuji doesn’t hesitate to charge toward danger to save his friends. 9Curse Womb Must Die (Season 1, Episode 4)

Jujutsu Kaisenestablishes what kind of show it is early on with episodes likeCurse Womb Must Die. The first years are deployed on their first mission wherein they’re tasked to rescue several individuals from a detention center that’s been taken over by a special grade cursed spirit.

It becomes fairly clear that the first years are out of their league as the cursed spirit overpowers them. In fact, if Sukuna had not come out then it would be very unlikely that any of the first years would have survived this encounter.

8For Myself (Season 1, Episode 2)

Despite being an early episode,For Myselfis one of the best episodes of the series. In this episode, we get to see Gojo face off with Sukuna for the first time. And while Sukuna was evidently lacking in power, it’s still impressive how effortlessly Gojo deals with him.

7To You, Someday (Season 1, Episode 12)

This episode is the first that ever forces Yuji to reexamine his morals. Despite claiming to never take a life, Yuji is forced into a tough situation after Mahito mutates Junpei and turns him into a grotesque creature. However, everything changes after this episode as Yuji begins to understand that the life of a Jujutsu sorcerer is going to be more difficult than he initially thought.

6Black Flash (Season 1, Episode 19)

Yuji and Todo manage to fend the cursed spirits off. During the fight, Yuji even managed to figure out Black Flash.

Black Flash is an incredibly technical ability that only a handful of people have mastered. It is a distortion in space that is created when Cursed Energy is applied in 1 millionth of a second of a strike. By doing this, the power of the attack is amplified two-fold.

5Assault (Season 1, Episode 7)

Whenpresumed to be dead, Yuji receives private training from Gojo himself. And while his training mostly involved cursed energy exercises, Gojo isn’t opposed to something a little more hands-on. When Jogo ambushes Gojo, the Jujutsu sorcerer realizes this would be the perfect time to teach Yuji about Domain Expansions. In the middle of the fight, Gojo manages to grab Yuji and bring him to where he and Jogo are fighting.

Jogo, insulted that Gojo would have the gall to leave in the middle of the fight, opts to go all out by Domain Expansion. Gojo explains to Yuji that Domain Expansions are advanced techniques that manifest a user’s Innate Domain, turning it into a physical space that traps others and improves the user’s cursed techniques, as well as making them unavoidable.

4The Origin of Obedience - 2 (Season 1, Episode 23)

Despite being a talented Jujutsu sorcerer, Megumi often finds himself trailing behind Yuji when it comes to overall strength. A lot of this stems from Megumi’s insistence on trying to make everything perfect. Because of this, he rarely ever tries to push himself beyond his limits. However, this all changes when Megumi is forced to push through his own limits and reveal his incomplete Domain Expansion in order to deal with the cursed spirits.

Getting Gojo under control is easier said than done.
