TheSpeedstar added, “It’s been really great to be able to learn more about what was going on in Formula One that year. It wasn’t just the cars, new regulations, FOTA [the Formula One Teams Association], breakaway series. I mean there was just so much happening in Formula One at that time. The world of Formula One was just extraordinary. I mean, it’s always extraordinary, but in that year with Brawn GP I think something really special happened.”

Keanu Reeves Recently Spoke About Formula One in Viral Fan Encounter

Keanu Reeves' appearance at the British Grand Prix had garnered attention in the press at the time. When Reeves was departing England to head back to the United States, he met a young fan, and the details oftheir encounter had gone viral. The fan had asked Reeves a series of rapid-fire questions with the actor taking the time to respond to every single one of them. That included mentioning the Grand Prix and Formula One racing.

“I saw online you were at the Grand Prix,” the fan said.

“Yes, the Grand Prix. F1! Race cars!” Reeves responded. When asked if he drove, Reeves stated, “Not F1, but I like riding motorcycles.”

Meanwhile, Formula One will also soon be racing its way to the big screen for a separate project. It has been reported thatBrad Pitt is producing a Formula One racing movieto be directed byTop Gun: Maverickhelmer Joseph Kosinski. That film could end up becoming a big hitter at the box office if Kosinski’s work onMaverickis any indication. Kosinski has teased that the Formula One film will similarly have a lot of CGI-free action, presumably with cameras strapped to actual F1 racecars.

“But certainly seeing people react to an in-camera, authentically captured film likeTop Gunmakes us all feel good that our approach works and is appreciated by audiences. It’s almost funny to me to see people who are so enamored with real photography,” Kosinski toldThe Wrap. “Younger people almost haven’t seen a lot of it. They’re so used to CGI [computer-generated images] being a tool of big movies that when you shoot something for real, it feels innovative. That’s exactly the approach for Formula One … to shoot at the real races and real cars and capture it. It’s going to be a huge challenge but an exciting one for me.”
