Kevin Smithhas revealed the debut trailer for his upcoming film,The 4:30 Movie. The movie follows three teenagers in New Jersey (not surprising for a Kevin Smith film) in the summer of 1986. Content with spending their days watching back-to-back screenings at their local theater, the group’s dynamic changes when one of them invites a girl to a screening.
Kevin Smith shared the trailer onX/Twitter.The 4:30 Movieis a love letter to, well,movies. As well as showcasing the film’s endearing story about growing up in the ’80s and making sense of the world through cinema,The 4:30Moviealso gave Smith the chance to create some B-movies of his own. The trailer starts with a faux trailer for a horror B-movie slasher about a killer nun, starring Smith’s own daughter, Harley Quinn Smith. In the tweet, Kevin Smith also revealed the film’s release date, along with an early premiere, with proceeds going to Smith’s Smod Cinemas charity:
“Presenting the trailer to my 16th film, THE 4:30 MOVIE! It’s in theaters everywhere SEPTEMBER 13th, but you can get tickets to the WORLD PREMIERE on August 24! It’s a benefit fundraiser for [Smod Cinemas] (a 501c non-profit)!”

It’s possible that Smith might have one of the most positive fan bases of any filmmaker on X.
