ViaDeadline, Di Bonaventura Pictures, who previously producedTransformers,Constantine,G.I. Joe, andMadame Web, is developing a new movie based on the indie video gameEl Paso, Elsewhere. The report also states that Di Bonaventura Pictures is looking at Lakeith Stanfield to star in and produce the project.

Released in 2023 by developers Strange Scaffold,El Paso, Elsewherefollows a vampire hunter who must fight his way through a horde of blood-sucking creatures, werewolves, and fallen angels, to stop his ex-lover (a vampire) from destroying the world. The game draws visualinspiration from Marvel’s classicBladecomics, with gameplay inspired byThe Matrix-style bullet time and theMax Payneseries of games. The official description from the report reads:

‘James Savage (Stanfield), who while recovering from a toxic relationship, confronts both his inner demons and enigmatic ex-girlfriend, Janet, before she executes a world-ending ritual. James navigates her reality-bending universe of ethereal monsters while facing the truth of his own addictions and skewed sense of self-worth, learning that the only route to love is through healing.’

No other information has been released about the project. The release window is currently unconfirmed.
