FX brought their upcomingX-MenTV seriesLegionto New York Comic Con with a Q&A panel earlier today. Series creatorNoah Hawleyand executive producersLaura Shuler DonnerandJeph Loebwere joined by starsDan Stevens,Rachel Keller,Jeremie Harris,Amber Midthunder,Katie AseltonandBill Irwinto discuss the new series.Noah Hawleyused the panel appearance to announce yet another new cast member,Jemaine Clement.

Deadlinereports thatNoah Hawleymade the announcement on the stage, and through social media, sending out a photo ofJemaine Clementon Instagram and Twitter with the caption “Expect the unexpected.” It wasn’t revealed what character he will play, but Deadline’s report claims that he will have a multi-episode arc in the show. While creatorNoah Hawleywouldn’t offer details on this new character, he did offer some insight into the story as a whole

“We live in a very tumultuous times, things are polarizing and there is a lot of intolerance. This isn’t about battling the enemy but dealing with the enemy within.”

Noah Hawleyadded that he wants the show to feel like a “1964Terrence Stampmovie.Legionintroduces the story ofDavid Haller: Since he was a teenager, David has struggled with mental illness. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he’s confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees might be real.

Noah Hawley(Fargo) will serve as an Executive Producer of theX-Men TV seriesalong withLauren Shuler Donner(X-Men: Days of Future Past,The Wolverine),Bryan Singer(X-Men: Days of Future Past,Superman Returns), Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Martian), Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones), Jim Chory (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones) and John Cameron (Fargo, The Big Lebowski). Legion will be produced by FX Productions andMarvel Television, with FXP handling the physical production.
